GATHER is an immersive, interdisciplinary dialogue with place.

Place is an embodiment of community, knowledge & communication. Place is a holding, a tending, an enquiry into past, present & future. What happens when we pay attention to a place? When we stop & listen. What happens when we give ourselves permission to be led back into connection, back into an ecology of place? GATHER is an interdisciplinary course that combines theoretical rigor with expansive, explorative practice. We will cover the territories of Ethnobotany, Herbalism, Mineral Pigments, Botanical Pigments, Ink Making, Paint Making, Chalk & Charcoal, Cordage, Wild Food, Foraging, Wild Fermentation, Wild Drinks, Fire Ceremony whilst also tending to the scholarship of indigenous thinkers, complexity theorists, cultural theorists, deep ecologists, poets, geologists & artists. Collectively, we will traverse the landscape of GATHER through an offering of  in-person & online meetings.

Reading lists, exercises & a list of equipment needed will be sent to participants prior to the course starting. 

For those who opt for studying online, learners will be sent bundles of pigments, botanical extracts, plants & other materials to use throughout the course. Bundles & reading lists will be sent 28 days before the course start date to ensure folk have sufficient time to equip themselves with necessary items.
